I wanted to share this with you because, it really provided some good marketing tips for your home based business. If you don't have one yet, but are thinking of starting a business opportunity, then this article has some really good ways to market online, which in turn will help you get your brand out there.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of ways that you can advertise and promote your business. Some of them have been around for a hundred years, some of them have been only around for a few months - as social media platforms are invented, new advertising techniques are developed.
The purpose of this article is to share with you the three main reasons why I believe you need to be promoting your home-based business online, no matter what industry your business is in.
Online advertising and promotion is really cheap- You can promote your business online very cheaply. With free blogging platforms, free Fan Pages on Facebook and free Twitter accounts there are a variety of tools that you can use for free that cost you nothing but time. You can also write articles and submit them to directories for Search Engine Optimisation. You can also use targeted pay-per-click advertising campaigns that aren't too expensive but can bring about great and quickly targeted results. PPC works because it immediately brings your home-based business website to the top of the search engines without having to worry about the time it takes to increase your search engine rankings with SEO. In contrast to this, mainstream media advertising in newspapers, on television and on the radio is extremely expensive by comparison.

It is better targeted than mainstream advertising- Mainstream media advertising is not particularly well targeted. A lot of people might see your ads but that doesn't mean that these people are actually interested in what you have to say. By comparison, with the right strategy, you can tailor your online advertising and promotion so that only people who are interested in your home-based business will see your advertising. With search engine optimisation and pay per click advertising you can ensure your ad is placed in front of an audience who is actively looking for your product in the search engines.
You can more easily track your results- It is hard to measure the effectiveness of mainstream media advertising. You do not know how many customers you are getting from your advertising activities. This is not the case when you are advertising online. The tools available online, especially through programs such as Google AdWords and Google Analytics, means you can track exactly how many customers you get from your advertising campaign and where exactly they came from.
If your marketing budget is tight, you need to make sure that you don't waste any money on frivolous mainstream media advertising. You may as well just throw your money down the drain. You need to use the internet to laser target your customers for a fraction of the price of traditional advertising and you will be much more easily able to track how many more customers you are getting to your home-based business.
